What confusion? If you do not like a keyboard shortcut, you change
it. This is a feature that makes a GEM program user-friendly, and
not having it detracts from the program somewhat. It is more work
for the programmer, but only once. Anyone programming in
a reasonably modular language can use the same set of functions
for every program they write. As for it being a mess for the user,
this is simply nonsense. If the user does not want to change the
keyboard shortcuts, he never has to even look at this feature. If
he does, the method should be simple enough that it is NOT a mess
for the user.
